Are you trying to make your hiking gear lighter, and the thought of the 360-gram aluminum center pole for the Saana tent is already daunting?
Fear not! Northern Lite has thought of you.
We developed an innovative solution for the Saana tent that allows you to connect two trekking poles together and make a sturdy center pole with the poles you already have with you.
Two 135 cm long trekking poles make a very long center pole. For the Saana tent, you need a center pole that is a maximum of 180 cm high, which you can easily and conveniently make with almost any trekking poles designed for adults.
The center pole cannot get more convenient and lighter than this. Follow these steps:
Place the trekking poles on top of each other with the pole tips pointing away from each other
2) Thread the loops at the ends of the connector strap onto the trekking pole tips.
3) Strengthen the center pole structure by attaching the Velcro straps of the connector strap around the trekking poles
4) Extend the trekking poles to the required height for the weather (usually Saana is low in stormy weather and high in good weather)
Did you forget to buy the connector strap when you bought the Saana tent? If you hike with trekking poles, it is still worth carrying the connector strap with you, even if you use the Northern Lite Center Pole for set up. Better safe than sorry.
NOTE! The attachment strap also works great with other high center pole requiring tents or tarps available on the market.
