Future

It all starts with the idea that outdoor activities should be primarily enjoyable, from slushy weather to sunny days. We aim to make all outdoor activities comfortable in any weather conditions by designing well-tested, comfortable, easy-to-use and weather-appropriate lightweight clothing and equipment. The lightness of our products is a crucial aspect of their comfort. Who wants to carry or wear heavy gear, after all?

Replacing plastic completely with bio-based fibers and fabric made from it is still a distant future and requires substantial investments. Northern Lite initially invests in developing and using recycled plastic fabrics in our products. Every hiker can participate in the green revolution of outdoor activities by choosing Northern Lite products and reducing their “plastic footprint.”

Our aim is first to use plastic products responsibly by minimising the harm caused by plastic. The best way to do this in the early stages is to use fabrics made from recycled plastic. Our Saana tent is the first step towards a future of responsible camping.

In addition to the Saana tent, we have started designing other products. We recently launched the highly functional Northern Lite Rain Skirt Ecolite. Our aim is to make all sewn outdoor equipment environmentally sustainable whenever possible. We want to make day trips, hiking, camping, and all outdoor activities, from mushroom picking to dog walking, environmentally sustainable by offering suitable products.

However, the starting point for all our design is to ensure both comfort and environmental sustainability for outdoor activities.
