Northern Lite’s founder, Juuso, noticed that the tents available on the market were not wide enough to accommodate two sleeping pads side by side. This led him to design a more spacious tent. During the tent’s development, Juuso also noticed that all of his outdoor gear was made from vast amounts of plastic in various forms.
The goal was to make Saana a real two-person tent. It also had to be environmentally friendly, lightweight, easy to set up and have a built-in inner tent.
In the future, Northern Lite aims to produce other sustainably made outdoor gear and clothing in Finland. Our goal is to offer eco-friendly products for day hikes, camping trips, outdoor activities, and dog walks. However, our primary focus is always on ensuring comfort during outdoor activities.
We want to change the world by creating sustainable outdoor gear. Our product design is guided by the overall impact of our materials and production on the environment. We hope to someday eliminate plastic from all of our outdoor gear.
